Beaumont welcomes Marsh Tourism cash boost
Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Folkestone & Hythe, Lynne Beaumont, has welcomed a 400,000 Euro grant for Romney Marsh and two other sites to develop green tourism.
New boundaries for the 2024 General Election.
From the 2024 General Election, the Parliamentary Constituency of Folkestone and Hythe will include the District of Folkestone and Hythe wards of Broadmead, Cheriton, East Folkestone, Folkestone Central, Folkestone Harbour, Hythe, Hythe Rural, New Romney, Romney Marsh, Sandgate & West Folkestone, Walland & Denge Marsh.
The electorate will be reduced to bring it within the permitted range by transferring out the North Downs area in the north (North Downs East and North Downs West wards), along with the parts in the Borough of Ashford (Saxon Shore ward), primarily to the reconfigured constituency of Ashford.

Romney Marsh, along with Reculver near Herne Bay and the Arena educational centre near Boulogne, are set to benefit from a project part-financed by the European Regional Development Fund to develop their potential for 'green tourism' and to improve the management of their distinctive natural environment.
