About Folkestone and Hythe Constituency
From the 2024 General Election, the Parliamentary Constituency of Folkestone and Hythe will include the District of Folkestone and Hythe wards of Broadmead, Cheriton, East Folkestone, Folkestone Central, Folkestone Harbour, Hythe, Hythe Rural, New Romney, Romney Marsh, Sandgate & West Folkestone, Walland & Denge Marsh.
The electorate will be reduced to bring it within the permitted range by transferring out the North Downs area in the north (North Downs East and North Downs West wards), along with the parts in the Borough of Ashford (Saxon Shore ward), primarily to the reconfigured constituency of Ashford.
Community green schemes to get funding boost
A £250,000 package of support for organisations to deliver sustainable and carbon reducing projects in the Folkestone & Hythe district has been agreed.

Delight as Sandgate Granville Parade Designated as a Bathing Water
Sandgate Parish Council is delighted that Sandgate Granville Parade has been named a designated bathing water from 15 May 2026. Weekly Environment Agency Water quality testing will now take place during the summer.
