The July 2026 monthly update from Tim Prater as County Councillor for Cheriton, Sandgate and Hythe East.
New boundaries for the 2024 General Election.
From the 2024 General Election, the Parliamentary Constituency of Folkestone and Hythe will include the District of Folkestone and Hythe wards of Broadmead, Cheriton, East Folkestone, Folkestone Central, Folkestone Harbour, Hythe, Hythe Rural, New Romney, Romney Marsh, Sandgate & West Folkestone, Walland & Denge Marsh.
The electorate will be reduced to bring it within the permitted range by transferring out the North Downs area in the north (North Downs East and North Downs West wards), along with the parts in the Borough of Ashford (Saxon Shore ward), primarily to the reconfigured constituency of Ashford.

Kent County Council is asking residents to delay disposing of unwanted fridges and freezers, or consider alternative options where appropriate, as a national shortage of treatment capacity reaches critical levels across the UK.
23th July was something of a meeting marathon for some of us at Folkestone & Hythe District Council. From a Folkestone Parks and Pleasure Grounds meeting at 4.30pm, then a Cabinet meeting, then Full Council running until 9.50pm: a lot of ground covered!
