Help us win back Romsey and Southampton North
The sixth smallest Conservative majority over the Lib Dems in the country.
Test Valley and Southampton Liberal Democrats are jointly recruiting a Campaigns Organiser to help us win back Romsey and Southampton North at the next General Election.
Romsey and Southampton North was first won by the Liberal Democrats in a by-election in 2000 and held until 2010. We are determined to win it back, electing our newly selected parliamentary candidate, Thomas Gravatt, to Parliament.
The first major milestone in this journey will be the Hampshire County Council and Southampton City Council elections in May 2026. We have an ambitious targeting plan across both council areas. You will be organising these campaigns alongside our capable campaign teams. Note that part of your role will be to support campaigns in Test Valley and Southampton that sit outside the Romsey and Southampton North constituency, including Andover and wards elsewhere in Southampton.
You will be joining an experienced, motivated campaign team with a strong track record. Since 2022, Southampton Liberal Democrats have grown from zero to seven councillors, including five within the Romsey and Southampton North constituency. In Test Valley, the Liberal Democrats are the main opposition to the Conservatives, with 17 councillors across the borough.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in one of the most important Liberal Democrat target constituencies in the country, helping to win seats at every level and make a real difference for local people.
The role
As Campaigns Organiser, you will be at the heart of our campaigning operation. You will support the recruitment of volunteers and help to organise their activities, help plan and deliver effective election campaigns, and ensure our day-to-day campaigning runs smoothly and professionally.

- Supporting fundraising activity, including appeals, events and local campaigns.
- Working closely with councillors, candidates and elected local party officers to deliver the campaign plan set by the local parties.
