The mission/what you will help make happen:
- Working closely with our Member of Parliament Calum Miller and our council groups, you will play a key role in our mission to increase and embed Liberal Democrat representation by holding parliamentary and local seats and winning more in forthcoming elections.
- You will play a vital role in helping us advance our goals locally and nationally, on health and social care, tackling the cost of living crises and addressing the nature and climate emergencies.
- You will be essential to the success of our efforts to grow our local party team and its operational capabilities so we can engage a wider and more diverse set of people as volunteers who want to keep our area a liberal and inclusive place.
Who you will work closely with:

- The leaders and councillors of our county and district councils.
- The local party executive and our growing network of volunteers.
- Other local organisers, party officials regionally and nationally.
Key responsibilities/job content:
- People are everything to our success. You will play a key role in recruiting new party members and volunteers; engaging and getting the most out of our existing ones; and building team spirit and camaraderie that will create the productive, fun, and energetic team we need to run great local campaigns and win elections.
- You will lead and have responsibility for reviewing and improving our processes for campaigns and elections across the seat, taking into account established good practice, including our key messages, printed and online materials, doorstep conversations teams, and fundraising.
- You will use data effectively to help target and focus our campaign efforts, making full use of the party’s database to generate canvassing lists, follow up on volunteer prospects and map efficient delivery routes for volunteers.
What we’re looking for from you:
- Warmth and confidence when it comes to working with people, and particularly volunteers.
- Ability to lead to create a positive culture of team-working, and work well within teams.
- Ability to learn IT systems and packages as needed.
- Able to understand campaign processes and logistics, and improve them using a keen eye for detail.
- Willingness and capability to build relationships locally, regionally, and nationally, including receiving feedback well and learning from good practice elsewhere.
- Commitment to the Liberal Democrat values and support for the goals of the party.
- Excellent judgement and discretion: high levels of self-awareness, knowing when to ask for help, and well-attuned political awareness.
