Liberal Democrats have a plan to help
Post-Brexit trade barriers, rising costs, and a sluggish growth environment have left businesses struggling to compete. The government talks about growth but continues to saddle businesses with overlapping, duplicative, and often pointless administrative burdens. If we’re going to get Britain growing again, this can’t go on.
That is why the Liberal Democrats have launched Clearing the Way for Growth: a major campaign to unleash the potential of British business and supercharge our economy. Through this nationwide call for evidence, and a series of Red Tape Roundtables across the country, we want to crowdsource exactly which bits of red tape need to be tackled so that British businesses can thrive.
Our aim is to draw up 100 measures that would cut, consolidate and streamline regulations and reporting requirements - not by tearing up vital safeguards, but by cutting the bureaucratic dead weight that costs businesses time and money without protecting anyone.
