Trump tariffs illegal: Government must “seize this opportunity” to build an economic coalition of the willing

Responding to the US appeals court declaring that many of Donald Trump’s global tariffs are illegal, Liberal Democrat Treasury spokesperson Daisy Cooper MP said:

“Donald Trump’s tariffs have wreaked havoc on the global economy, put British workers jobs at risk and added even more pressure to household budgets.

“The Government must seize this opportunity to make clear to Trump that any attempt to reinstate these tariffs will be met with an economic coalition of the willing made up of our allies across the globe.

“Trump only understands one language, strength and Ministers must show that we will not take anymore of his bullying lying down.”
