Small Business Saturday: govt should take this opportunity to scrap NICs rise

6 Dec 2024

Commenting on Small Business Saturday today (7th December), Liberal Democrat Treasury spokesperson Daisy Cooper MP said:

“Small businesses drive our economy forward and their contribution to our communities should be celebrated.

“We all know brilliant local businesses that deserve our support so I hope as many people as possible go out today to enjoy the experiences and services they bring to us all.

“The last few years have been extremely difficult for our small businesses after years of economic vandalism by the Conservatives.

“The new government now risks making the same mistakes with their misguided tax on jobs.

“On a day to celebrate small businesses, they should take this opportunity to scrap this tax hike and focus instead on supporting our high streets, not continuing to saddle them with more burdens.”
