Police data breaches: Lib Dems demand inquiry

15 Aug 2023

EMBARGO: Immediate Release

Commenting on the data breaches by Norfolk and Suffolk police forces, Liberal Democrat Home Affairs spokesperson, Alistair Carmichael MP said:

“The Home Secretary needs to conduct an urgent review across all police forces. Two data breaches in less than two months is simply unacceptable.

“These errors can have chilling real-life consequences, and it’s disturbing to think that it is becoming routine. We must know what went wrong and ensure that this can never happen again.”
