New sewage funding: Loose change compared to water firm profits

Responding to the government announcing just £11million between 180 river clean up projects, LiberalDemocrat Environment spokesperson Tim Farron MP said: 

"This is loose change compared to the multi-billion pound profits made by water firms.

"Conservative Ministers just don't get it. The Conservative party has learned nothing from last week's election defeat.

"Communities across the country voted last week to take action on the sewage scandal, yet all the Conservative government can muster is half-baked plans."
