IMF Forecast: Govt has wrecked our public finances

Responding to the latest IMF forecast, Liberal Democrat Treasury Spokesperson, Sarah Olney MP said: 

“The IMF has laid bare what we’ve known from the start: that this Conservative Government has blown a black hole in the country's finances, bringing public services to their knees. 

“The Conservative party will never again be trusted to run our economy, after Rishi Sunak and his predecessors left people struggling with higher energy bills, sky-high food prices and soaring mortgage payments.

“The country urgently needs a proper economic plan to boost growth and living standards, and the first step for that is putting an end to Conservative chaos and mismanagement."
