GDP: Economy is on its knees after months of chaos and botched budgets

Responding to this morning's GDP figures, Liberal Democrat Treasury spokesperson Sarah Olney said:

"The British economy is on its knees after months of chaos and botched budgets. The blame lies squarely with the long list of Conservative Chancellors who have failed to deliver meaningful growth or bring down prices.

"Jeremy Hunt made hardworking families pay for the Government's mess through eye-watering unfair tax hikes whilst banks and oil firms make large profits. The way out of this economic mess is to help Brits with this cost-of-living crisis and get people back to work by dealing with the NHS backlog."
