Economic doomsday clock - Govt has 24 hours to make plan

Responding to James Cleverly discussing the Bank of England's withdrawal of support this morning, Liberal Democrat Treasury Spokesperson Sarah Olney MP said: 

"James Cleverly has spent this morning defending the indefensible. The botched budget must be overhauled starting by scrapping tax cuts for the richest companies.

"With the economic doomsday clock ticking, we are seeing the Conservatives at their very worst, both uncaring and incompetent.  The Government has 24 hours to set out a realistic plan. 

"We have seen nothing but chaos and calamity since Liz Truss took power, the public deserves better than this."
