Deposit-free Mortgages: Govt mismanagement put mortgages out of reach

Responding to the news of a deposit-free mortgage scheme being launched by Skipton Building Society, Liberal Democrat Spokesperson for Housing Helen Morgan MP said:

"It's a shame it's taking individual banks and building societies to help people to buy a house when the Government has only made it harder by sending mortgage rates soaring.

"The Conservatives' mismanagement of the economy has put house buying out of reach for many.

"Liberal Democrats are calling for more help for people to buy homes, including reforms to protect renters and building 150,000 social homes a year."
