David Neal: Home Office must publish reports

Commenting on the remarks made by the former independent chief inspector of borders and immigration David Neal in today's home affairs committee, the Liberal Democrat Home Affairs Spokesperson Alistair Carmichael MP said:

"The Conservatives are desperately trying to dodge scrutiny of their litany of failures on our borders and immigration. It would be pathetic if it wasn't so dangerous. 

"David Neal is right - this is shocking leadership from the Home Office. 

"The Home Secretary must publish Neal's reports without delay, and commit to filling the inspector post as a matter of urgency.”
