Bank of England intervention: Truss is bankrupting Britain

Responding to news that Liz Truss is sticking by her economic plan despite the Bank of England's intervention, Liberal Democrat leader Ed Davey MP said:

“Liz Truss is bankrupting Britain by ploughing ahead with her disastrous agenda. This Conservative government is totally blinded by ideology, they don’t care about the devastating consequences of their actions for millions of struggling families and pensioners.

“The Chancellor and Prime Minister need to drop their tax cut for the richest companies and banks, and bring in a proper windfall tax on oil and gas giants. 

“The Bank of England is providing a temporary sticking plaster, but only the government can reverse the damage done by their reckless approach.”
