Lib Dems will vote against farm tax to protect farmers

Ahead of the vote on the Family Farm tax today, Liberal Democrat Environment Spokesperson Tim Farron MP said:

“This family farm tax risks being the final straw for local farmers who have been overlooked for far too long. We know the impact of this tax hike goes beyond rural communities - farmers are vital to food security, to the protection of our natural environment and to the British economy.

“After years of the Conservatives taking rural communities for granted, it is very concerning to see more of the same from this new government. 

“The Liberal Democrats will continue to fight this unfair tax hike to ensure rural communities get the support they need.”
