Responding to the resignation of Josh Simons as a Cabinet Office Minister, Lisa Smart MP, Liberal Democrat Cabinet Office Spokesperson, said:
“The public voted for change, instead we're seeing the same old ministerial merry go round as we had under the Conservatives.
“Targeting journalists in this way was a sinister attack on our free press and so it's right Josh Simons has resigned.
“Keir Starmer needs to end this constant chaos and get on with delivering for people on the cost of living and NHS.”
