Food Prices Report: Time for Rishi Sunak to roll up his sleeves

In response to the embargoed Resolution Foundation report "Food for Thought" on the impact of food prices which found that by this summer the average increase in food bills will be more than energy bills, Liberal Democrat Treasury Spokesperson Sarah Olney said:

“That soaring food bills will surpass even the surging cost of energy exposes the Conservative Government's glaring disconnect with people's worries . They are so out of touch they haven't put forward a single idea to tackle this crisis.

“People are sick and tired of empty words. With families and pensioners struggling to put food on the table, it’s high time Rishi Sunak rolls up his sleeves and launches a plan to bring down food prices. The public cannot afford to wait any longer for the Conservatives to take action.”
