Chancellor must deliver a Budget to save the NHS and social care

Ahead of the announcement of the Budget today (Wednesday 30th October), Liberal DemocratTreasury spokesperson Daisy Cooper MP said:

“Today the Chancellor must deliver a Budget to save the NHS and social care.

“The Conservative party ran our economy, our NHS and our public services into the ground and people are desperate for a new way forward. To get our economy back on track, the Government first needs to end the crisis in our health and care services.

“We need urgent solutions to ensure people can access GPs and dentists when they need to, fix crumbling hospital buildings and support carers and care users. 

“Liberal Democrats will constructively scrutinise this Budget and will be standing up for the fair deal struggling families and small businesses deserve.”
