Brian Crombie-Fisher

Brian Crombie-Fisher is the Liberal Democrat candidate for Wigan. He is Chair of Wigan Leigh & Makerfield Liberal Democrats and has campaigned in local elections for improved infrastructure and transport links, and to protect the environment.

Born and raised in Carrickfergus in Northern Ireland, Brian moved to Liverpool to train as a teacher and now lives in Appley Bridge with his husband. He has spent his career in education, initially as a secondary school history teacher and more recently as Human Resources manager for a schools trust. Brian is responsible for the provision of a dedicated and experienced HR service, offering advice and guidance to school leaders, the development of policy and practice, and maintaining good relationships with unions and professional associations.

Brian’s top priorities for Wigan are: Urgent action to cut the cost of living; cut waiting times for GPs and ambulances; and ending the scandal of sewage dumping in our rivers and streams.
