Shaffaq Mohammed

Candidate for Sheffield Hallam

General Election - 4 July 2024

Shaffaq Mohammed

Shaffaq is Sheffield through and through. He grew up here, has spent his entire working life in the city and has raised his family here. He studied at Loxley College in Stannington and Sheffield University. His first job was with the Co-Op, where he was promoted to run several stores across Sheffield.

Over many years Shaffaq has worked in youth services - supporting young people in our city and helping them to reach their potential.

Shaffaq has served as a city councillor - fighting to give communities in Sheffield a voice and standing up for issues that matter. During his time on the council, Shaffaq led on increasing recycling rates and has fought campaigns to get better bus services.

He was awarded an MBE for his services in 2016 and has represented Yorkshire in the European Parliament. As Sheffield Hallam’s next MP - Shaffaq would be a real champion for our city. He has the knowledge, enthusiasm and experience to fight for Sheffield on the national stage.
