Julia Aglionby

Julia Aglionby is a passionate advocate for farming and rural communities. She has worked for the last 30 years across Penrith & Solway supporting farming communities make a viable living producing food while looking after the natural and cultural environment. She has served in national roles as executive director of a small charity and as a Board Member of Natural England.

Julia has also been actively involved in her local community via a range of projects including with her local school, Girl Guiding, refugee support and being a trustee of a local care farm where she lives.

A big passion for Julia is addressing the dumping of sewage in our rivers. In 2023 Julia swam the 80 mile River Eden with two friends and their group View from the River now has over 20 citizen scientists measuring water quality.
