Gary Jackson

Candidate for North Dorset

General Election - 4 July 2024

Gary Jackson lives in Shaftesbury, North Dorset with his wife and family. He settled in Shaftesbury in 2011 before finishing his 30-year career in the Army in 2015. Gary’s military career achievements were in conflict resolution, in Northern Ireland for which he was made an MBE, the Balkans, A UN plan for Cyprus, and Iraq.

Gary is a chartered civil engineer and works for a leading UK civil engineering business, focused on our critical national infrastructure. He volunteers with Dorset Wildlife Trust as a Water Guardian for the River Stour. He is a business mentor and STEM ambassador, and keeps bees in his spare time.

Gary’s priorities for North Dorset are: urgent action to cut the cost of living and invest in our economy; cut waiting times for GPs and dentists; and protect our rural environment.

“I'm proud to live here in Dorset. I know our communities are really special - and they deserve a strong local champion as our next MP. I'm determined to get a better deal for everyone in our area, by thinking long-term and acting now.”
