Paul Edgeworth

Candidate for Houghton and Sunderland South

General Election - 4 July 2024

Paul Edgeworth

Paul was born and raised in Sunderland, attending Southmoor Comprehensive School as well as St Roberts in Washington. Paul works as Campaigns and Communications Manager for consumer organisation CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) working with volunteers, communities and organisations to secure changes in the law and to get support from the Government and local councils to help keep well-run local pubs and breweries open, alive and thriving. He is also a Sunderland city councillor for the Grindon, Hastings Hill, Springwell and Thorney Close areas, and leads the Liberal Democrat opposition group on the Council. Paul wants to be an active and visible MP, providing a strong opposition voice for residents and to end decades of complacency from Labour MPs on Wearside who are more interested in furthering their own careers in Westminster than they are about getting things done for local people and communities across Sunderland, Houghton and Hetton.
