Bobby Dean

MP for Carshalton and Wallington

Bobby Dean

Bobby lives in Carshalton, just off Green Wrythe Lane, with his wife Gemma and dog Chester.

Raised on a council estate, the son of a cleaner and a scaffolder, he moved into the care of his grandparents as a teenager. His career was in International Development, where he ran his own small business advising charities working on global poverty, health and education issues.

Since his election, Bobby has made St Helier Hospital his number one priority - fighting to retain its A&E services and secure new funding for a major regeneration.

As a member of the prestigious Treasury Committee, Bobby is fulfilling his promise to fight for a fairer economy - challenging the Chancellor directly on the impact of her budget.

He has continued his award-winning campaign to protect the River Wandle, challenging Environment Ministers to do more and working with the South East Rivers Trust on local nature restoration projects.

Bobby is also quickly becoming a champion for children - fighting for improved rights for those in Kinship Care, drawing on his own personal experiences, as well as standing up for children in care and care leavers more broadly.
