Steve Aicheler

Candidate for Caerphilly

General Election - 4 July 2024

Steve Aicheler

Steve Aicheler (49) has lived in Machen with his family for the past 20 years, Steve Aicheler has a deep-rooted connection to the community and a strong commitment to representing its residents in Parliament.

Steve is a Community Councillor on the Bedwas Trethomas and Machen Community council and governor of Machen School.

Steve’s experience of supporting students and graduates to start businesses provides a unique insight into the value of education in supporting thriving communities. Steve is dedicated to ensuring every person in Caerphilly has access to high-quality education and to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to prosper.

Access to healthcare services in Caerphilly are getting worse with limited local services at Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr, and poor access to The Grange due to public transport cuts. Steve and the Lib Dems will fight to ensure that everyone in Caerphilly can get to a decent hospital when they need it and where the community in involved in decision making.

Fairness is at the heart of Steve’s political vision. He believes in creating a fair society where everyone can succeed, regardless of their background. Steve is committed to reducing inequality, increasing the availability of affordable housing, and combating discrimination. Their focus is on implementing policies that address economic disparities, supporting disadvantaged communities, and promoting inclusivity to build a more equitable society.

Commenting on his selection Cllr Steve Aicheler said:

“I look forwards to giving the people of Caerphilly a better choice in this election. In Caerphilly the Labour party have taken people’s votes for granted for too long. Caerphilly is a beautiful place to live and an amazing community to be part of, but we are being failed by the Tories in Westminster and Labour in Wales. Our schools are underfunded, our hospitals are under pressure and the big parties don’t seem to care.

I will fight for a Caerphilly where our Schools are properly funded, where we have access to decent healthcare and where our environment is protected.”

Vision for Caerphilly

Steve will fight for a Caerphilly where education works, social justice prevails, and healthcare is accessible to all. He is committed to working tirelessly to make this vision a reality.

On the 4th of July, vote for Steve Aicheler and the Liberal Democrats to champion the values that matter most to the community of Caerphilly.
