James Collis

Candidate for Broxtowe

General Election - 4 July 2024

James Collis

James Collis is the Liberal Democrat candidate for Broxtowe. James lives with his wife and family in Beeston and studied just down the road at Loughborough University.

James worked in the IT industry for over 25 years, ultimately running different different business units that managed clients in academia, health, water, e-commerce and the energy sectors. As the current chair for Citizens’ Climate Europe, James has advocated for effective climate policy that can also help with the cost of living for over 5 years. He was appointed to the EU Climate Change Expert Group in 2023 to represent citizens concerns.

James’ passion is the importance of linking sound economics to environmental issues in order to drive our economy and create a more a liveable world.

"Aligning the UK more closely with the EU Green Deal will absolutely be good for Broxtowe and the UK. For Broxtowe a fairer deal means action on the cost of living, better access to GPs and emergency care, and a cleaner and greener environment. Fighting to keep the award winning Beeston Recycling Centre open is good example."
