Jonathan

Cllr Jonathan Moore

Jonathan has lived in the area for over 20 years, with the last 12 years at Salford Quays. Jonathan is very community minded, and within a year of arriving
had got stuck in by becoming a director of Merchants Quay Residents Association, a role he still holds.

In 2019 Jonathan established Salford Quays Community Forum (SQCF) from a pre-existing smaller group and has been Chair ever since. SQCF is the only pan-quays group, set up to represent the interests and views of residents and local businesses across a range of topics and issues, which have included planning matters, environmental clean-ups, antisocial behaviour, community building, and much more. There is very little that has happened within the ward since 2019 that Jonathan hasn’t been involved in!

Away from the Quays Jonathan engages in a range of activities that demonstrate his commitment to making society better. He is Chair of the Board of a local counselling and family services centre, which provides much needed mental health support to the community via a team of 51 clinical staff. He is a non-executive director of a housing association, bringing his business experience to support those with the most acute housing needs. He is a trustee for a national charity that campaigns on financial exclusion matters, as well as being trustee for a smaller charity that provides community funding. Until recently, he was Chief Executive of a Greater Manchester financial services firm that helps marginalised communities, working in an area of significant deprivation.
