Mary moved to Ely in 2014 from Preston. Mary spent 11 years overseas teaching English and working on projects with the British Council. She lives in Ely with her two children.
Mary was elected to city council in August 2022. Mary is also the trustee of a local charity: Homestart Cambridgeshire and Vice-Chair of governors at Ely St Johns, a local primary school.
Since she returned to the UK in 2008 Mary has worked in international education in partnership with a range of UK universities.
Kathrin grew up in Germany. She has lived in Cambridgeshire since 2008 and moved to Ely six years ago.
Kathrin is married and has two young children. A scientist by background, Kathrin works as a consultant in Cambridge.
Her main concerns are the cost of living crisis and local climate action and she believes that both need to be tackled together to create a more fair and equal future for everyone in East Cambs.
