Adrian Hyyrylainen-Trett
Your Lib Dem candidate for Kennington
Adrian is a well-established global figure in human rights campaigning particularly on LGBTQ+ rights and has worked in the inclusion and diversity sphere for more than ten years, having previously worked in both translation and recruitment sectors.
Adrian was the previous parliamentary candidate for the Vauxhall constituency in 2015, so is very well acquainted with the entire area and stood in the local elections in 2018 in Waterloo and South Bank ward, where he has lived since meeting his husband in 2014.
Adrian in 2026, will be standing in Kennington, an area which he knows well, and for which got him his best ever election result in the former named Princes Ward, in 2015, as a by-election candidate on the same day as the 2015 General Election.
Adrian cares about the local amenities and will be focussing on supporting the local community as their champion especially where housing, policing and environmental concerns are the highest. Adrian formerly worked as a Council Officer for both Southwark and Waltham Forest councils in Housing, HR/Finance, Education and Children Services, so they know how Council’s should support their residents and will be doing everything to reverse, the lack of engagement, financial waste and general poor state of Lambeth facilities seen under a Labour administration for the past twelve years.
