Meet Faiz
I have lived and worked in Waltham Forest since 2003, and it is a place I am proud to call home.
I work in housing and am deeply committed to advancing human rights and equality. I have long advocated for resolving issues in my ancestral homeland of Kashmir and currently chair the Liberal Democrat Friends of Kashmir group.
I am also passionate about tackling local issues such as fly-tipping, improving the regularity of street bin collections, and ensuring greater transparency in how council resources are used.
I believe local politics should be rooted in long-term commitment to the community, not used as a stepping stone to higher office. It should be about serving the area in which you live and work.
From my own experience, Liberal Democrats work for their communities all year round—not just at election time. We are guided by values of liberty, equality, democracy, community, human rights, internationalism and environmental responsibility, which shape our approach to both local and national policy and will guide my approach to serving residents if elected as a Waltham Forest councillor.
