Older People Hit Hardest

Liberal Democrats have slammed Labour-run Waltham Forest Council for cuts to a scheme that provided home-visits to isolated older people.

This comes after the Labour government heartlessly slashed Winter Fuel Payments for pensioners, and broke their promise to provide compensation for the Waspi women who lost out when their retirement age went up.

Local Liberal Democrat campaigner Afzal Choudhry said, “Time and again, Labour has targeted vulnerable older people. These cuts and broken promises are shameful, and the Liberal Democrats oppose them.”
