Lower Bills, Cleaner Rivers – Lib Dem Plan

Households face soaring water bills while Thames Water dumps sewage into our rivers. Shockingly, a quarter of every bill never reaches the pipes – it just pays off Thames Water’s massive debt. Labour’s tweaks on executive bonuses won’t fix the broken system — or stop bills rising.

The Liberal Democrats’ plan for Thames Water:

✅ Sack the board and turn the company into a Public Benefit Company, prioritising customers and the environment.

✅ Replace Ofwat with a tough Clean Water Authority to prosecute polluters and revoke licences.

✅ Publish live sewage data, set binding pollution targets, and put community experts on company boards.

Lib Dem campaigner Kath Pollard said, “Thames Water have wasted customers’ money for far too long. It’s time to sack the board, clean up our waterways, and put customers first.”
