Labour Leaves Whipps Cross Future in Limbo

It didn’t take long for the Labour government to start rowing back on some of the promises made during the general election campaign.

Despite our local MPs all promising before the election to push ahead with the badly needed redevelopment of Whipps Cross hospital, Labour has now frozen its funding and may withdraw it altogether.
The rebuild of the hospital is already behind schedule and this will add further delays.

Liberal Democrats Campaigner Arran Angus said, “The residents of Waltham Forest deserve a new hospital and have waited long enough. Local residents deserve nothing less than a state-of-the-art hospital with no compromise to bed numbers or services.”

“We only have one ask of the Labour party. Fund a new hospital for our community like you promised you would.”
