Holocaust Memorial Day

Friday 27 January is #HolocaustMemorialDay to remember victims of the Holocaust and other genocides. Residents can leave flowers at the Anne Frank tree in Fellowship Square, Walthamstow E17, to mark the day.

This year’s #HMD theme is Ordinary People, where we put the spotlight on those who became perpetrators of genocide, as well as the ordinary people who were bystanders, rescuers, witnesses and victims.
By highlighting Ordinary People, such as ourselves, and learning from history, we can consider ways to play a positive part in society by challenging the everyday prejudice around us.
