Scot Lib Dems respond to TransPennine nationalisation
Responding to the news that TransPennine Express will be nationalised, Scottish Liberal Democrat transport spokesperson Jill Reilly said:
"The Conservative Government has now been forced to take over four rail companies in five years.
"TransPennine passengers are angry that services are being cancelled and the Conservative's failure to stop industrial action is making things worse.
"Years ago the Conservatives promised to fix railway services, promising that the new "Great British Railways" would take control and stop disruption but they have badly failed rail travellers
“If we are to tempt people out of private cars, passengers need a reliable and frequent rail service. For the good of the planet, both of Scotland's Government need to ensure that all services are up and running and trains are arriving on time."
