Responding to comments made by Transport Minister Fiona Hyslop during the Net Zero, Energy and Transport Committee debate, in which she conceded that the tripartite management setup for ferries, which is presently split between CMAL, CalMac and Transport Scotland, needs to change, Scottish Liberal Democrat economy spokesperson Willie Rennie MSP said:

"Changing the structure is probably the right thing to do but to imply all the problems with the mushrooming cost of the delayed ferries was caused by structure is just plain wrong.

“Despite all the colossal mistakes that have been made still no minister has resigned.

“The question Fiona Hyslop should be answering is why there seems to be no accountability with this government."
