EIS survey shows Scottish teachers wrung thin
Responding to today's EIS survey highlighting concerns about wellbeing and workload among Scotland's teachers, Scottish Liberal Democrat education spokesperson Willie Rennie said:
"Scotland's teachers are being wrung thin. 16 years of the SNP running Scottish education has left the profession tired and overworked.
"Support has been stripped out of classrooms and school resources are being paid for out of teachers' pockets.
"Scottish Liberal Democrats would prioritise the building of top-class leadership in our schools, developing support networks and career opportunities for teachers and pupil support assistants and encouraging specialist ASN training. Those are simple steps that the government could take to reverse the battering that education has taken on their watch."
