Cole-Hamilton: Two decades of costly blunders catching up with SNP
Responding to the Scottish Fiscal Commission warning that the Scottish Government's own decisions are to blame for “much of the pressure" facing the country's finances, Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Alex Cole-Hamilton MSP said:
“Almost two decades worth of costly blunders are catching up with the SNP.
“From blowing the budget on the ferries to selling Scotland’s prize seabed on the cheap, the nationalists have made a massive mess because their focus has always been on breaking up the UK, not delivering public services.
“There’s an urgent need to get the economy growing, bring down NHS waiting lists and lift up Scottish education, but the SNP have been in power for too long and shown that it can’t be trusted to spend your money wisely.
“The Scottish Government need to make sure that going forward every penny is going towards sound investments that will deliver for people across Scotland.”
