Cole-Hamilton responds to record low birth rate

Responding to the news that Scotland’s birth rate has fallen to its lowest level since records began in 1855, Scottish Liberal Democrat health spokesperson Alex Cole-Hamilton MSP said:

“This record low birth rate reflects important changes in our population.

“The SNP have done precious little to meet the challenges of an ageing population, from failing to grow the economy to their neglect of social care.

“Right now, too many young people feel like their future is insecure and that things just don’t work for them. They deserve better and a fair deal on jobs and housing.”
