Laura Coyle

Laura moved to the Coombe in Streatley with her husband Ray twelve years ago. They have a son, Cillian, who is nine and goes to Streatley Primary School.

Laura was Chair of the management committee of Streatley Hill Pre-School for two years while her son attended there. She also sat on Streatley Parish Council for several years.

A Lib Dem for all of her adult life, Laura stood for the Party as parliamentary candidate in the Henley constituency (just over the river!) in 2017 and 2019 and achieved a huge swing from the Conservatives in 2019, taking the Lib Dems into a solid second place on 30.9% of the vote.

Laura is a partner at legal aid law firm Turpin Miller in Oxford and specialises in housing law, fighting for the legal rights of vulnerable homeless people and defending tenants against eviction. She is also a director of a Newbury based almshouse charity. She believes passionately that access to a decent, secure home is a missing pillar of our welfare state.
