Raynes Park Post Office is at risk of closure! This vital hub keeps our community connected, providing essential banking and postal services. Its loss would be catastrophic, especially for the elderly and digitally excluded.

Liberal Democrat councillors and Wimbledon MP Paul Kohler are fighting to keep essential Post Office services open in our area, pushing the Government and Post Office Ltd to take action.

Positive progress has been made, as Post Office Ltd is now exploring applicants to take over the franchise.

Since launching the petition, we have been liaising with the Post Office about the future of our local branch. We were told it was exploring franchise opportunities for a number of directly managed branches, including Raynes Park, and advertised for expressions of interest at the beginning of the year. We are awaiting the outcome of this process.

In the meantime, Paul Kohler MP wrote to the Minister for Services, Small Business and Exports to seek his reassurance on retaining Post Office services in Raynes Park - see letter enclosed below. Concerningly, he could not rule out closing our local branch.

Victoria Wilson, Lib Dem councillor for Raynes Park said: "Residents are up in arms about this proposal. The post office is key to our successful and vibrant local High Street. We're fighting to keep Post Office Services somewhere in Raynes Park and avoid any gap in services."

The petition calling for Post Office services to be kept in Raynes Park has raised nearly 2,000 signatures. Add your name to support the campaign!
