Liberal Democrats surge in by-election

HLD

Haringey Liberal Democrats are celebrating success in the Tottenham Hale by-election, after local businessman Allen Windsor almost doubled the party's voteshare from 8% to 15%, and surged from fourth place to second. Labour, meanwhile, saw their vote drop from the 1,200 won by resigning councillor Yannis Gourtsoyannis, to just 800 at the by-election, in a ward the party has held for the entirety of Haringey's existence.

Liberal Democrats increased both their raw vote numbers and their share of the vote from 2022. Meanwhile, Labour, the Conservatives and the Greens all saw both their raw vote and their share of the vote fall.

Following the result, Allen Windsor said:

“First of all, I think it was an absolute honour to reach such a vote at my first time running. I am very happy to have run – especially for the people of Tottenham Hale.”
