Lib Dem candidate Dawn Barnes: “Save Whittington maternity unit”

Lib Dem Parliamentary candidate for Hornsey & Friern Barnet, Dawn Barnes, has joined calls to save Whittington Hospital’s maternity unit.

The local NHS is consulting on plans to close maternity services in North London, and the Whittington is one of the options. You can respond to the consultation here.

Cllr Dawn Barnes, Lib Dem parliamentary candidate for Hornsey & Friern Barnet, said:

“Closing the Whittington’s maternity unit would be a huge mistake, and would mean a loss of vital services in our communities. Parents in Hornsey & Friern Barnet deserve top level care, and shouldn’t have to travel for miles and miles to access services. I urge NHS bosses to retain this vital service at the Whittington.
