Local families hit by soaring food prices

Families across Carshalton & Wallington are being hit by soaring food prices and the Conservatives are doing nothing to help.

The price of essentials has gone through the roof, with cheese, milk and eggs up by as much as 50%.

Bobby Dean, who is running to be Carshalton & Wallington's next Lib Dem MP, said:

“People are really struggling just to afford the basics.

“We’re going through the worst cost of living crisis in a generation and the Tories are refusing to help -- they are so out of touch.

“The Lib Dems are calling for investment in British farms to boost food production and free school meals for every child in poverty.

“And we need a proper investigation into alleged profiteering by big food companies and supermarkets.”
