Lib Dems demand better Hackbridge train service

Local Lib Dems are calling on Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) to restore full Thameslink services through Hackbridge, which have remained reduced years after the pandemic.

Bobby Dean MP and local campaigner Tom Foster have written to GTR, urging a clear plan to return to pre-pandemic levels, warning that unreliable and infrequent trains are failing to meet residents' needs.

Bobby said: “With no Tube and the Tramlink extension cancelled, Sutton relies on these services. We’re all fed up with packed trains and poor service. It’s been five years – Hackbridge residents deserve a full, reliable timetable again.”
