Lib Dems back st Helier Hospital facilities staff

Local MP Bobby Dean and Councillors Paul Cole and Gemma Munday are standing up for facilities staff at St Helier Hospital who face unfair contract disparities compared with other NHS workers.

Around 300 cleaners, porters, caterers, and others receive lower pay, fewer benefits, and smaller pensions than colleagues on NHS Agenda for Change contracts.

Cllr Gemma Munday said:
“These staff are the unsung heroes of our NHS. They deserve fair pay, benefits, and recognition for the work they do. We welcome the action of moving facilities staff onto NHS pensions but urge the NHS to take further steps ensure equity with other staff.”
