Fighting endless roadworks

Empty roadworks sites cause frustration and waste local people’s time. By introducing charges of up to £2,500 per day, the council will push companies to finish projects sooner and reduce disruption. Lib Dem council leader Barry Lewis said: “Residents are fed up with endless, half- finished roadworks causing congestion. These new powers will help us hold companies to account and keep Sutton moving.”
