Councillors secure new grit bin during cold snap

Local Councillors got a new grit bin installed to help residents tackle icy pavements.

Snow and ice in December made some areas slippery and difficult to get around.

Many people did their bit and gritted outside their homes and nearby. 

But after a resident requested a grit bin in their neighbourhood, Wallington North Councilllors -- Barry, Marian and Sunita -- managed to quickly get one installed in time for the cold spell in January.

This, along with the free grit provided by Sutton Council, helped Wallington combat the icy conditions.
